I am a newbie (especially to projectors). We are looking for a projector for our church sanctuary in the 3000 lumen range (4X3, 1024x768). I am getting conflicting info from sales people about which is better (and even brighter). The sony guy says the 31 at 2800 lumens is brighter (and clearer) than the mit at 3000 lumens. The Sony quote is $7700. I've found a Mit source (used) for $5,800. Any help or thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

I have the X400 and I find it amazing.

Don't buy the Sony! This one for Powerpoint not for the video and movies. No doubt - buy Mits X400 Or Sanyo XP30

they are way superior and the BEST in LCD class.

As owner of a X400 and also I have compared the sanyo XP30 I strongly recommend the X400 for brightness, color and uniformity, besides you now have a choice of a long throw lenses for your application. Rick
