I know there are a few threads out there regarding the

xd200 but are there any real world users out there with

any comments on this pj, if so how are the rbows and

overall dimensional look of the image, i know that the

major strong point of this unit is the dcdi processing and

the (color matrix) image enhacement. Also is there a 16x9

model anywhere in the immediate future.

I just recently purchased an Mitsubishi xd200. I am quite happy with it, so far.

The colors are great. For instance the reds are the best I have seen on any LCD or DLP projector.

I replaced an NEC LT84 DLP projector. I had tested a Panasonic 711xu. I opted to spend the additional $800 for the xd200.

I don't notice any rainbows, however, I don't think I am sensative to them anyway. The kids and wife haven't said anything negative about it either.

I got mine from Vincent Reed at Comp View.

If sensative to rainbows, the Panasonic LCD may be a good option. Vince at Tierney Brothers was real helpfus with the 711xu.

I've had my XD200 for quite a numebr of weeks now and am VERY happy. Rainbows are not a major issue, but if I really look for them I can find them in certain scenes (I was paranoid about them initially, but when they were so hard to find I let it go - thankfully).

The colors are superb, with some of the best reds I've seen on a front projector. With the high ANSI Lumens (2000), having some ambient light around will still give a great quality image. This was a major factor for me because fo the layout of my house.

The other big selling point is the fan noise - it is very quiet. I think its rated at 32db, but I've used an InFocus LP530 (rated at 35db) and there seemed a bigger difference.

The Farroudja de-interlacing was a big feature as I am feeding it from a non-progressive DVD player (via component cables).

While a native 4:3 projector, it has a "cinema" mode to project a 16:9 image from an anamorphic feed. This is the mode I always use it in and am very happy withthe results, although I don't have much to compare it to.

I haven't got any photos yet - been meaning to get around to it, but I've been too busy watching movies. I'm going away for a few days, but will take some shots when I get back. Any particular movies, scen types you're interested in?

it would be great to see something from animation like

toy story, mulan, dinosaur, or shrek. Then an example

of good contrast and color lets say from austin powers,

gladiator, vertical limit or 2001: a space odyssey, thanks

enjoy the time off!!
