Hi Folks,

I'm thinking of upgrading from my discontinued Sony VPL-HS1 to a projector with higher lumens, higher resolution for pc display, and HDTV compatibility.


I'm hoping to spend no more than $2500. CNet seems to give the Mitsubishi XD50U a good review (See below) but I wanted to know if theres anything else I'm missing or should consider ?


As a sidenote the plan is to ceiling mount the projector and project onto the opposite wall about 20 feet away. Am I likely to encounter any keystone issues ?

For that price you should get an NEC Ht-1000. Get one before they are discontinued. I also don't think it's that much of an improvement over the Benq 6200 which is almost half the price.

Both the NEC LT240k and Mitsu XD300u are under $2500 street price.

Are both of these recommendations better than the XD50U ?

The resolution seems lower on both projectors. Would appreciate any thoughts on what I should go for and why.

the Xd50 u is the same resolution as all those mentioned on this thread. It is small but more of a business projector than a home theater projector.


read some reviews on www.projectorcentral.com Cnet reviews of projectors are notoriously bad.
