I remember reading that it is ok to have the Surround Back speaker wires at different lengths, but that they shouldn't be too different; but I never got a guideline.

Is 12 ga. 40 and 30 ft, respectively, ok; or should I just get both 40 ft.?

(I know 14 ga. is sufficient, but the vendor only has white in 12 ga.)

Now, for the Fronts, since color is not important, I could get 14 ga., seeing as the runs will be 20 ft., but is it ok to have a different gauge?

(It would be a different vendor, and I could save some $.)

I think as long as the Fronts are all the same ga. it is ok, but figured I would check.

Different lengths don't matter. 14 AWG is fine as well. I use 12 AWG everywhere but buy 100 foot spools for C$50 or less.
