I had so much success getting useful replies to my last question (thanks, guys) that I thought I'd throw another one out there.

Is the "Mix Out" output on my Sony STR-D665 appropriate to run into a powered subwoofer's "Line In" input? Ever since I bought the receiver (circa 1995) I've used a speaker system that included a passive sub (student budgets are tight, you know) that ran off of speaker-level inputs. Now I have a new speaker system (that I will be using with a newer receiver once it arrives) that includes a powered sub with only a line level input. I'd like to try the speakers out on my existing receiver but don't want to start off by blowing the sub! I haven't been able to find my owner's manual or any info on this output online.

Again, thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply. I went ahead and plugged it in and sure enough it worked.

Now all I need to do is find a deal on a 5.1 receiver as good as the $199 Onkyo SKS-HT500 set I bought over the weekend, wait for my SE 1HD to arrive, and I'll be good to go. :D
