WEll since I suck at life and cant figure out WTF im doing wrong with REW I decided to just go back to pen and paper marks.. I moved the sub AGAIN , behind the coucjh, AGAIN, but gave it a little more space behind there this time and wow, I have found the right spot, Finally which ended up being about 2 feet from where I started 2 weeks ago

Last week when I got my RS meter I did some test, all tones are run @ 19-20 Volts @ the listening position ... Old marks in standard text, New readings on right .. MUCH smoother response and overall better output especially to 40 hz
And yes I am this bored

Lets just call it MEW... If you guys want to run the program , let me know and I'll zip you a file

......Old #s ......... New Numbers

20 hz - 92 db .. 96 db

24 hz - 100 db.. 102 db

27 hz - 98 db .. 106 db

30 hz - 101 db .. 108 db

35 hz - 107 db .. 114 db

40 hz - 111 db .. 114 db

43 hz - 115 db .. 118 db

45 hz - 118 db .. 120 db

50 hz - 118 db .. 119 db

55 hz - 117 db .. 117 db

60 hz - 114 db .. 114 db

65 hz - 108 db .. 115 db

70 hz - 104 db .. 118 db

75 hz - 111 db .. 118 db

80 hz - 117 db.. 114 db

doesn't look good, that should be pretty flat down to like 20hz. something is not right here.

what do your graphs look like? I know you had your meter a few inches out of the mouth corner loaded in a few of your vids.. This is at my LP which I assume is getting tagged in the low end by my room.. COmpare your #s with me, what are you hitting at say 10 volts a foot out of the mouth?

I never posted vids with a meter.

my graphs look like this:

you can see how mine drops out around 20hz, that's normal.

better to fix it than to not fix it =[

check the driver chamber and make sure its all perfectly sealed around all the edges and the driver is not leaking against the plate.

is that graph with both of yours? and what voltage is the yellow graph? Yours are naturally gonna dig deeper I think just from being 30" but yea I agree, something is weird how I dip almost 20 db from 45-20

MJ79, are you using corrected radio shack SPL numbers? If not, then your low end would be fatter than it currently shows.

No, Is there a way to get the corrected meter readings without going thru REW, cuz im having issues with that

At 10Hz add 20dBs to the meter's readings and at ...

12Hz add 16.5dB

16Hz add 11.5dB

20Hz add 7.5dB

25Hz add 5dB

31.5Hz add 3dB

40Hz add 2.5dB

50Hz add 1.5dB

63Hz add 1.5dB

80Hz add 1.5dB

100Hz add 2dB

125Hz add .5dB

that doesn't account for the huge drop

Not trying to sound like a jerk (seriously), but are you sure those graphs are correct? I think that looks better than any graph I've ever seen from any subwoofer. It looks very similar to the readings I got when I ran REW. But someone told me they thought it might be wrong.....or that I was the luckiest man to walk the earth. Turns out after a few hours of help getting the computer set correctly, my reading was incorrect.

Like I said, I'm really not trying to be a jerk, I'm just curious. Heck, I don't put too much worry into my graphs anyway.

They're correct. It didn't start that smooth and that's post-eq. multeq xt rocks. The top line my inputs were clipping on my laptop, so its a little squished.

Thats was his end result after EQ i belive. Who knows though, it wasnt his first time using REW when he took those.

Man MJ your whole situation is just ate the F up haha. I feel for you man =(. And this right here my friend is why i was all anti measuring and feel your headed the same way lol. Unless you want to spend alot of money to correct the issues in your room and with an EQ why even measure? Its like cutting yourself, why just to watch yourself bleed? But since im wanting to make some treatments and possibly invest in a nice EQ im going to begin my REW or TRUERTA quest again soon hopefully with much better equipment.

yea dude , its a never ending battle over here

Im really starting to wonder if my sub or amp is goofy.. When I get to Sub 30 hz notes, and get to about 20 volts, You can audibly hear ( like night and day ) my sub makes a different sound, like it almost turns into a flutter type sound..

Really thats not right at all. The only time ive ever noticed mine's sound change was when i gave it a ton of power during some music and i could hear some distortion creeping in. It couldve also been a bad recording because at the same levels other songs didnt give me any guff. Other than that no issues. Id recheck for leaks you never know it could be inside the driver hole. Your drivers surround couldve ripped and is now leaking too many variables to not open it up and perform open heart surgery.
