.MKV .TS to HD DVD on Standard DVD's

1121 Views 6 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Ibanezwiz
I read the "Official AVS Guide to HD DVD Authoring thread but I'm just not getting it. Videoredo will not recognize .TS files that I have. It says "This transport stream does contain an mpeg2 program. The source is a rip of HD/Blu-Ray material (I won't say what). I guess this means it's an mpeg4? How are you supposed to authorize an .MKV or .TS to standard DVD in HD to playback on a HD DVD player?

Thanks for your help.

Perhaps it would be better to post in that thread instead of here.
I use convertXtodvd to convert mkv/ts hd files to dvd, or you can use the latest ulead movie factory.

I've made HD-DVD on a dvd9 and my A1 reported it as a HD-DVD

I also used ConvertxtoDVD but it encodes for standard DVD only. I would like to keep the HD for playback in an HD DVD player.

Is this the wrong forum for questions like this?
Welcome to AVS Ibanezwiz,

You'll be better served, by posting your question, in the Official guide to authoring thread.

What thread are you refering to, the one I said I already read?

Sorry for not knowing my way around here yet.

This thread is about a year old and doesn't really address the problems I'm dealing with:

I was hoping that I can get some answers here. Please point me in the right direction.

Thanks
