I'm setting up my xbox 360 media extender but how do I get it to play my mkv movies?


I have 7MC with media browser that has the mkv files on it. They play fine on there using MPC-HC.

you could also convert or transcode, but that would take time

Since Shark007 codec uses the divx media foundation, it is the best choice - divx media foundation is the only way I know of that xbox can play MKV without having to transcode; however, due to limitations in the xbox, you can't play higher than about 12mbit video and it only supports AC3 audio.
