If you are referring to the Mark Levinson No.40 Media Controller your guess of being expensive is VERY correct! How does $35,000.00 suit ya!!! I think getting the M.L. reference No.39 (I think) pre-amp AND a Lexicon MC12B is cheaper and I doubt would be any less of a great setup!

My guess is that it is a little bit to early to say something like that.

Pricier, but

the only thing I can say is that I am pretty sure the ML40 will have a lot of features not in the setup yourefer to.

We will have too wait then. Thanx for the info on the price !

My assumption is just that at a certain price point, I think sonic improvements are so subtle that it takes a VERY picky person to hear the differences.

By the way, my best friend and his older brother think Tom Savini is a GOD..they are both huge B Movie fans!!!..I'll admit his special effects are good but I am not a fan of that genre of movies!

Keep in mind that a chuck of the ML No.40's price comes from the separate video processor, which is apparently NOT optional. Myself, I've been looking in to [high-end] preamp/processors for a couple years. The ML No.40 seems like an extraordinary piece, but I'm disappointed that the video processor is forced onto the customer, whether he/she wants it or not. For those who are considering paying loads of money for a high-end pre/pro, like myself IF I had the money, the Boulder Multichannel Control Center is definitely worth a look. The Boulder might not have Logic7 like the No.40, but you don't have to pay (no, waste) extra money on a video unit that you may or may not need.

I can agree to that.

The thing is to find out if it iss affordable, then test it.

I guess a manual will be out soon. Looking forward to see what this beast can do.

The scaling will be really interesting to check out.

At 35 000 it is NOT cheap, but maybe not to bad compared to Faroudja prices.

Ai !

That's cool ! I love horror movies, Savini is "The Man" of horror.

When watching older horror movies, it is possible that the ML40 won't come to justice picture wise
