Last evening I was testing the quality of the MLP down sampling of different DVD-A. I noticed that it was a huge difference in sound degradation on the different discs. On some disc e.g. ELP's Brain Salad Surgery, the down sampling work very well. On the other hand on the Blue Man Group disc it sounded terrible. Not only unpleasant, but some real decoding errors (right channel). Have any one tried the first track of the BMG DVD-A with down sampling. The error disappears after a few seconds, after that it's just sound like a bad recording. Is this a common "fault" on the disc or is it my player?
