Modded Xbox with Remote Control
I know some of you have modded Xbox units with Box Media Player on them--can I use the Xbox DVD Remote Kit with Xbox Media Player or any other Xbox media player?

Yeah, the remote works with XBMP. Some of the commands are only on the game controller, but they aren't essential.
Here's the controls pulled out of the XBMP2.3 Manual:
Button Setup
The button setup can’t be changed, but this is a list of the current button set up:
Navigation:
-X button/Display Key: Toggle between played file and Player GUI.
-A button/Select Key: Play/Open selection.
-B button/Back Key: Go back 1 folder.
-Y button/Title Key: Queue file to playlist
-Back Button/Menu Key: Go back to Main screen.
-D Pad/Arrow Keys: Move cursor
-White Button/Info Key: Display IMDB Info (active internet connection needed).
-Left/Right Triggers: Next/Previous Page.
During Playback:
-X button/Display Key: Toggle between played file and Player GUI.
-A button/Select Key: Show up control panel.
-A button/Select Key: While in CP, select controls.
-D Pad LEFT/RIGHT: Change subtitle Offset.
-D Pad UP/DOWN: Change AV Sync.
-RWD Key: RW file (for controller, choose option on the Control Panel).
-FWD Key: FFWD file (for controller, choose option on the Control Panel).
-White button: Go to Screen Settings.
-Black button/Info Key: Show File information.
-Right (R-Thumb)/Skip +: Next Playlist Item.
-Left (R-Thumb)/Skip -: Previous Playlist Item.
-Extra DVD Keys: Play, Stop, Pause accordingly.
-Y button/Title Key: Create Bookmark.
-B button/Play Key: Cycle through bookmarks (only if available).
-Slider Bar/Skip +/-: Step up/down in the file.
-B button/ Skip +/-: Cycle through bookmarks (only if available).
Special Slideshow Settings:
-Right Trigger/FWD Key: Speed up Slideshow Time (Visual Display of Increment).
-Left Trigger/RWD Key: Slow down Slideshow Time (Visual Display of Delay).
-Pause Key: Pause Slideshow.
-Back/B or Stop/Menu: Stop Slideshow.
-Right (R-Thumb)/Skip +: Next Song.
-Left (R-Thumb)/Skip -: Previous Song.
-D-Pad Right/Right Key: Next Picture.
-D-Pad Left/Left Key: Previous Picture.
-Y button/Title Key: Rotate Picture.
-Numbers (0-9): Zoom Picture (0 restores picture)
