I just moved into a new condo and I am looking for a new sound system. The living room is going to have a modern / minimalist look and I am wondering what speakers i should consider


I am not an audiophile so I just want a set up that sounds good, I probably can't discern the difference between amazing and great sound systems. The system is mostly for TV, Movies and Karaoke. Also, since I live in a condo, I wont be cranking up the volume all the way.


I would like to keep the cost below 700 bucks for speakers and receiver, but the number is flexible. 5.1 would be great, but I don't care if it's 2.1 either

A minimalist speaker would be any typical box floorstander. A modern speaker would be lower end offerings from Sony etc. A minimalist modern speaker would be something extremely expensive like the B&W XT, VM, LM series.
