So there are 2 reasons I am still holding on dearly to my HTPC:
1 - I can rip DVD's to a media server and play from there
2 - I run a 2.35:1 scope screen and zoom gives me really good AR control
With the 880N coming down the pike it looks like #1 is a moot point. Has anyone tried a non-standard AR on the custoom resolutions to see what it does? If I set it up for 1280x544 will it treat it as square pixels and let me zoom, etc or will it stretch things out based on the TV type selected in the menu?
I'd buy one to play with and try but the 880N is not available yet and when it is, $400 is a rather expensive experiment.
