The V880N is getting better and better. That is, if it ships and if it works. Now, Momitsu is talking about a scaler add on for the V880N. This is the link to their web site:

Not a whole lot of info there. So, I emailed Momitsu asking them some questions about it. They confirmed that the module will scale up to 1920x1080. However, they didn't mention the price.

I don't know if I want this module to be a good price point. I've spent so much time playing with my HDTV and other stuff. I mean, I need to work sometime.

Converting component to DVI would be sweet.

I remember reading that Sigma has a "Hollywood" board that does all this. It upscales s-video and composite inputs to 1080i as well as the dvd controller. It's a true all-in-one component.


If I'm not mistaken, it also converts analog audio inputs to the digital optical output as well.


I could only hope that this is what Momitsu has employed in their V-880N.


Then I can feed my sd tivo into the 880N's s-video, my HDTV tuner into the 880N's component and feed everything to my plasma with a single dvi cable.


Add to that the networking finctions?
