Cost no object, the best sub that you can get is one that meets all your specifications - both performance & appearance. If you send an email to Funk Audio with your ideas, they can design & finish a custom sub however you like. One of my FA subs has four 18" drivers, a 9600 W. peak amp, built-in DSP, and a Bubinga hardwood finish. It provides all the SPL I can handle and it's flat to single digits. If that doesn't tickle your fancy, I'm sure that Funk Audio would be happy to design something that's even more outlandish. Your imagination & pocketbook are the only limitations...
Yes, understood that it could be difficult if not impossible depending on a few things....but it is somewhat commercially available, its got a website and everything!Yeah, maybe if people could buy them. I only know of one person that actually owns one.
To be fair that system is largely theoretical. I doubt they have ever made one.Without doubt the Transmission Audio's Ultimate with 4 dipole subwoofers with 10 15-inch drivers each (total of 40 15-inch drivers). This is part of their Ultimate speaker system one can order for $2,000,000 (perhaps if one orders online, you can save the sales tax). This is suppose to reach 146 dB SPL from their 15,500 watt rms amplifiers. http://www.transmissionaudio.com/images/Transmission_Audio_ULTIMATE.pdf
That really is just a bunch of subs, I don't think it counts. You could do the same to any of the subs mentioned.
