Hello,

I am in a position where I have to purchase a pair of Monitor Audio Studio 20SE Celebrations if I want to hear them (only one dealer carries them in my area,,,special order only.) I have only found a couple of reviews (Audio Review and Secrets home theater) and each was very positive. I am looking for more data points, specifically, looking for opinions from owners and those who have listened to them. I have had the opportunity to listen to the Studio 60s, very impressive but very $$$ (the 20s are supposed to be similar, for less.)

Application – 50% music, 50% HT.

Associated Pre-amp/Amp: Theta Casablanca, Krell KAV-250/3

Sub: Velodyne HGS-18,,,,,, considering a couple of Monitor Audio ASW 210’s to match with Studio 20SECs

Thanks

Jeff

I've heard them, too and have owned other MA speakers in my time. Terrific sounding and imaging speakers. Most importantly, they're involving which is the key to a good speaker. Beautiful, nicely proportioned design, too.

They do seem to work best with tube amps as I recall and they are really a music speaker as opposed to a home theater speaker. I'm sure they'll work fine (and look superb) in an HT setup as do most good speakers. It's just that they have that slightly upwardly tilted audiophile sound, if you know what I mean.

Good luck.
