Any difference regarding quality and longevity. Believe I heard something about oxygen-free, copper, etc.

Blue Jeans is a respectable business. Low cost cable, no frills. You get a lot for a little. I ordered wire and components from them for my car stereo's subwoofer stage. I'm running their 10-gauge cable from my 1200-watt Cadence amp to my dual 12" RE SE subs. The subs are pulling a 1-ohm load. The wire is working well.

I don't think you can go wrong with either. I use both (belden 12awg from BJC and 14awg from monoprice). I can tell you they both sound great, but the strand count on the monoprice cable is MUCH higher. The thinner strands really make it much easier to use them with closed screw banana plugs. Something to consider

Monoprice recently had a major security breach, where many credit cards that had been used on the site were compromised, and the entire site was offline. From their own website:

A few of our customers recently reported to us that information from credit cards they used on the Monoprice website had been misused. We promptly began an investigation with the help of expert computer forensic investigators to determine if any card data had been stolen from our computers.

To date, the investigators have found no evidence that card information has been stolen from Monoprice's computer network. As a precaution to ensure that our customers' information is not at risk, we have taken our website offline temporarily while we and our investigators complete the audit of our computer network.

We want to ensure that there is no security vulnerability in any part of our computer network system. We notified local and federal law enforcement agencies, our credit card processing business partners, and all credit card companies that some of our customers reported concerns regarding their card information to us.

We also advised these entities that we are working with outside security specialists to determine if there was breach of our computer system. We will post additional information when it is available. We regret any inconvenience that our investigation and the temporary suspension of the Monoprice website may have caused you. Thank you so much for your great support.

I have bought all my wires from Monoprice, great quality and prices along with quick shipping. I will continue to use them, even though they had this problem I am sure they will get to the bottom of it.

Both have oxygen-free copper wire for sale. Blue Jeans Cable offers basic cables that are comparable to Monoprice. They also offer Belden cable that some believe is better quality but it comes at a higher price. Depending on the application I think Monoprice cables are sufficient.

Monoprice is back online accepting payments only through Google Checkout and PayPal. None of the Google Checkout and PayPal payments were compromised in the breach. I'll continue to shop at Monoprice with confidence using Google Checkout, the same as I have many times before.
