I'm interested in purchasing a wall mount for monoprice for my 58 plasma. I know all mounts are the not same, but how in the world does mono sells theirs for almost 75% less than the comp. Can this mount really hold the the 58. Also does it move from side to side as well. Thanks

Not sure of the specific mount you are looking at, but I purchased a very basic mount for my 50" plasma from Monoprice and the design and construction were great. My $24 Monoprice Mount looks stronger than the $150 mounts I've seen at some of the Big Box stores.

Mounts, Cables and extended Warranties are a significant source of profit for retailers who have to compete fiercely on the price of the TVs to get the business.

Don't be afraid to get the Monoprice mount.

Monoprice is a great company, don't confuse greed with the electronics stores to Monoprice. BIGmouthinDC is right electronics stores don't have a big mark up on lcd and plasmas so they mark up the small items and hardware to make up the difference in the price loss. I have used this company and save Money doing so, and had better product.

Monoprice is amazing. I have purchased everything from speaker cables, adapters, 50' HDMI cables as thick as my thumb, 1000's of feet of Cat6 cable, etc. from them and its always been great quality for shockingly low prices.

I did buy a wall mount swinging monitor mount that is a little flimsy. You basically put it together and then clip on plastic covering that seems cheap. But it was less then $20! Thats the only item that was questionable. If you want a simple tilting metal mount i am sure it will be fine.

I've got a 42" lcd hanging above my fireplace with this mount.

So, far I'm pretty happy with it. It suits our needs. The best bang for my buck .

I've posted elsewhere regarding monoprice mounts.

First,,,, I have nothing against monoprice.... I PURCHASED MY HDMI CABLES FROM THEM.

OK, I'll say it again, because I have been slammed before.... I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST MONOPRICE,,,, HOWEVER, BUYER BEWARE, MONOPRICE MOUNTS HAVE NOT BEEN TESTED FOR THE RATINGS THEY CLAIM, IN OTHER WORDS, NO UL RATING OR LISTING LIKE ALL THE MAJOR BRAND MOUNTS.

I'm not saying monoprice mounts are BAD or will FAIL, just they could not provide me any written documentation of weight ratings or material manufactuaing specs that I was able to get from others like SANUS and OMNIMOUNT before I purchase a wall mount to hold my $2000+ TV on the wall.

Just thought someone should be a watchdog here, low price does not always equate as a bargin overall, just my opinion.
