I currently have the Monster Power hts 2500 mk II. However, in looking for ways to save electricity, I began looking into the specs of this unit and it does not seem to me that there is a way to cut power completely to the A/V equipment like some of the newer smart strips (power strip energy savers). I have a projector, two receivers (one for sound and one to run my bass shakers), PS3, and cable box plugged into my monster power. Has anyone tried these new smart strips and I wonder how much electricity is actually being drawn by this equipment when they are in standby mode?

I was unplugging all of my gear there for awhile along with those God forsaken CF bulbs in certain rooms in the house and outdoor lighting. To be honest, I saw no real difference in my electric bill other than they went up with a few new taxes and price increases. Now I say screw it.
