Another great future (but not TOO future) request....


When Replay tells you it can't record something because it is already set to record. First, allow us to pick from that screen which item we really want to record.


Second, allow an option that allows canceling one show only for theme-based or all-episode based recordings.


Third, in addition to adding a TiVO-like to-do list of all recordings coming up, have a screen that shows any guaranteed vs. non-guaranteed records and allow an override. I may have a theme-based recording that happens to be a repeat and would rather record something else.


Fourth, speaking of repeats.... add a flag that tells Replay not to record repeats.


Fifth... please.... add a screen-saver to the ads we have to watch, or at least rotate them so my projection TV doesn't burn.


6. When using FIND A SHOW, allow more boolean search options, such as recording shows that contain "Pets" but "not Dogs" in the description. Also, allow choosing between (the current) whole word and partial words. For instance, if I enter "Island," Replay will return a ton of Gilligan's Island episodes, but not "Exotic Islands."

I was hoping the screens shown when the Replay is paused would change every min or so as somewhat of a screensaver but no luck. Hopefully the next version will have this, as I also have a projection tv and would like to take care of it.


I'd also like to see the restriction of 7 shows saved be removed or at least increased. I was on vacation and was going to have 9 episodes of my soaps air while I was gone. I had the room to save them all but I couldn't tell the Replay to keep more than 7 at a time. This restriction seems arbitrary and obnoxious when you are planning to be out of town. I actually had to have my husband tape the extra 2 episodes on his Tivo in order to get them all. I suppose it would be easier to work around with the new update because I could separate the recordings into 5 days worth so each one could store multiple episodes, but it's still not a very good solution when all you want to do is just store more episodes.


Also, a tip about conflicts, what I usually do is temporarily change the conflicting show I want to skip to non-guaranteed until after the other show, then switch it back to guaranteed. It's not perfect but it is better than deleting the show and re-entering it.

99 should be plenty! When I asked the customer support people about it they didn't tell me that. I'll have to look tonight. I just got the update yesterday so I haven't poked around much yet.

But not for Manual Recordings. That seems to be stuck with the old 7 limit! Bug or design? You make the call.
