It's just more parroting of the BS that Digital Playground has been spouting. The quote, "Sony has said to the replicators that if you replicate adult, you'll lose your license." is an outright lie and if they had bothered to actually do a modicum of research for the article they would have known that.

Uh, IMDB does not supply/write the articles; in fact , "The Internet Movie Database takes no responsibility for the content or accuracy of the articles". The articles are written by WENN & Newshare and it's apparent that no research was doen since they published a lie with no refutation from Sony.

I call BS on all of this. No one knows the actual facts or there isn't any factual info out there saying whether this is true or not? We are a year +into this and you would think by now we could separate fact from fiction. What gives really?. Come on. Someone gives us FACT please so we can end this nonsense.

Paidgeek (from Sony Pictures Entertainment) has posted on this:

Quote:
Sony did not ban anything, our domestic replication plant just doesn't replicate pornography for any format. I suspect Digital Playground was mis-quoted or exaggerating.

and about Vivid producing Blu-Ray:

Quote:
There are plants in the U.S., Austria, Japan and possibly elsewhere. Blu-ray lines are operated by Sony, Panasonic, Technicolor, Deluxe, Cinram and maybe others. I'm not sure who is doing the work, but it could be a plant in Japan. If it works well for Vivid, others may follow suit.

So you would just lie if you were in the same position? Either way how is he supposed to know what happened in an interview between Digital Playground and the reporters? When you know what he knows, it pretty much has to be a mis-quote or exaggeration, it doesn't take a genius

The buzz at CES was that the porn industry really is going to HD DVD for a number of reasons including lower replication costs, ease of access to replication facilities, Sony and Disney stubborness and HD DVD support and Blu-ray indifference.

Some representative recent articles. You can decide for yourself if the trend is valid.
