More on HD Porn

Interesting to see that Vivid will support both, at least in the short term.

I honestly don't think porn is going to have the impact that it did during the VHS/Beta era. The reason porn was a driving force then was because it was the first time people could really get porn in their homes besides magazines. That has completely changed now that we have the internet.

I don't know....the porn DVD sales don't exactly seem to be hurting. It may not be the exclusive means of getting smut into the house, but it's certainly an important one. Time will tell.

What an incredibly poorly written article! Never the less, its redundancy certainly hammers home (like a ham-fisted troll) the idea that porn will play a role in this format war. And I agree! After all, who doesn’t want to see the zits and razor stubble on our favourite performers’ privates? Pure joy!

More seriously, in a field where there is a couple dozen titles released for both formats (which seems likely by the end of summer), I wouldn't discount thepotential impact of 2-3 dozen additional titles that help draw in buyers from other markets (of course there's some overlap, but I think buyers of the movie "Pirates" are decidedly in a different market from purchasers of "Bambi". Err, I mean the Disney movie...) If it helps drive sales of machines...specifically if it holds off purchases of HD-DVD machines until the sheer numbers of PS3 sales start racking up, it'll play an important role in the format war.
