Here is mine:

Contrast - it gives the image that "vivid" quality that is so important. Beside, digital projectors need high contrast to overcome their not so deep black level.

Color - color is important but if you don't have good contrast then you'll have good colors that are all washout so that's why I rated color at 2nd.

Brightness - Important if you don't have total light control but since my room is pitch black I rated it 3rd

Regards

Brightness defenetly is the most important to me (3000lms)

Colors is the second most important and black levels witch comes along with brigh projectors. Resolution is not important with such PJ ,you would have to be very close to the screen to notice any grid effect and offcorse useing sunglasses. ::cool:

Think about it Brightness has to be the most important because if you can't see the picture the color and contrast don't matter. Brightness is also very important if you want to integrate your projector into you living area and use it anytime you want.

1. Brightness

2. Contrast

3. Color

This is an interesting thread, and I think it explains why different people choose different projectors..

Any more folks want to share their thoughts??

With lights on:

brightness, color, contrast (both good color and contrast are badly diluted, so the order isn't real important)

With lights off:

color, contrast, brightness (close call between color and contrast)

However, if any parameter is really weak, the order changes. If something is "good enough" it seems less important, but if it lousy, it's a big deal.

So, let's make it more complicated:

lights on:

brightness > 2000 L

contrast > 300:1 (ie, noticeably better than Sony 10HT)

lights off:

contrast > 500:1

brightness > 1000 L.

And this is for an average screen size (54x96)

Throw screen size in, and it gets totally crazy.

As Cain said, "It explains why different people choose different PJ's"
