I'm on a tight budget and I'd like to buy a receiver with Multeq XT for as little $$$ as possible. It would be nice if the amp had some sort of compression/"night mode" for DD and DTS, but I could live with out it if it saved me enough dough. I'd also like the amp to have an 80hz 12db h.p./24db l.p. crossover for the sub, but as far as I can tell this is standard these days.

So, has anyone researched the cheapest amp with this feature?

Thanks in advance for the help and I apologize if this topic has been covered elsewhere.

Onkyo TX-SR705, they dropped XT on the new 706 model.

I have bought refurbed from factory authorized dealers with no issues.

Thanks, the 888 seems like it can be had for less than the 705's floating around.

Actually, looking closer it appears that the 888 only has multeq, not multeq xt.

Sorry. I was reading from a storefront's spec page and not the manufacturers site. I do own a 705 so I know that info is correct.

Again, my apologies.
