I'm thinking about ditching my 400 disc dvd player to start archiving my DVD collection. I have read nearly all the posts here and have read great things about DVDshrink, My movies, Any DVD, and so on. I'm wondering what is in your opinion the most user friendly straight forward software combo for ripping and playing dvd's off of an external hard drive connected to the Asus Essentio CS5110 with HDMI out? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Seriously!! 75 views and not one person has an oppinion on what they think is the most user Friendly software to use for rippiing and playing DVD's. Wow I expected more from the memebers in this thread. I hope someone will help me out with some ideas. thanks

AnyDVD is the crowd favorite for decryption. I personally use AnyDVD, CloneDVD2 to rip, then I convert to dvr-ms (since I use extenders) using VideoReDoPlus. Then that's loaded into MyMovies2.

I use DVDFab 5 . Its free and very easy to use.

I use DVDFab to rip DVDs, AnyDVD-HD for HD discs. Store on my NAS drive, streamed to a dedicated front end running XBMC
