Well after deciding i would definatley go with the 'Antec fusion max remote' i thought id better measure up and make sure it would fit in my stand, and basically, it wont! Im not happy at all as i only bought the stand last month and it cost me about £100!

Anyways i need some suggestions please, it can not be any bigger the 480mm(W) x 390mm(D) x 190mm(H).

The depth is really the most important, it cant be more then 390mm (D).

Ive seen a case by 'Origen' - http://www.origenae.co.kr/en/htpc_s14v.htm -

Any one got one of these or know's what they're like? Are they quiet etc etc etc?

It has to be able to fit the 'Gigabyte - GA-MA790XT-UD4P' - http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/...A-MA790XT-UD4P and it has to have at least 3 x 3.5" HDD bays and 1 x 5.2" drive bay, a remote and 3 or 4 slots

Or...

Can someone please tell me how good this microATX motherboard is please -

Asus P5QL-VM EPU Socket LGA775 Motherboard - http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/...nents-_-162379

Thanks in advance guy's as i know you've helped alot so far with my other threads.

The Gigabyte - GA-MA790XT-UD4P is a ATX (standard) sized board and the Origen case only supports a Micro atx board.

If I was you I would look for a case that fits your space and shop for a board from there.

Cases that support ATX boards. (GA-MA790XT-UD4P)

I really need something the size above, i think its going to have to be a microATX as ive been looking for hours for a atx case these sizes - 480mm(W) x 390mm(D) x 190mm(H) and i just cant find one, but, the miroATX cases dont offer enough hdd space for what i want, maybe i'll just have to make do with the microATX, sigh, nevermind..

O.k i need a decent microATX motherboard and some suggestions for a quiet microATX case.

Ive found this motherboard, is it any good? - Gigabyte GA-E7AUM-DS2H - http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/...=GA-E7AUM-DS2H

Do you have any suggestions for a MicroATX case and a better MicroATX motherboard?

Please, you wouldnt believe how frustrasted im getting over this, i wanted it to be an enjoyable build but im on the verge of giving up

Thankyou in advance.

I have the Asus H55M Pro mATX board and the Antec Fusion Remote Black case. I have plenty of space in the case for the H55M and my GeminII S RR-CCH-PBU1-GP cooler, plus my 5.25" BD drive and my two 3.5" HDDs fit in there just fine.

It depends on what you're using it for and what else you want in the system. There is not one best motherboard, there simply isn't. You need to decide if you're using onboard graphics or a video card, and if a video card, how much performance you need from it will determine how high end and subsequently how large the card is, that will be a big limiting factor on the case you choose. Then you need to decide if you're going for pure budget, gaming, HTPC or Encoding performance, that will help dictate the processor. Then you can look at different motherboards.

Right now your choice has too many variables, you haven't settled on a form factor, or a cpu, or a chipset. Otherwise you're constantly going to be jumping back and forth and the end product is going to suffer because of it.

If you just want the best of the best of the best MicroATX motherboard, then you're going to get stuck with something like the ASUS Rampage II Gene socket 1366 for Core i7 9 series cpus, which is obscenely more than any HTPC needs.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, you can get a foxconn G41 board for $40 that with a HD5450 series and a Celeron E3200 would be plenty for a low power HTPC and cost less than the cost of ASUS Rampage II Gene for all three parts, maybe even memory too.

OK, i'll be more specific..

It has to be microATX (for the size).

Ripping dvd's to .iso

Watching movies

Listening to music

Maybe record tv

Play some games (not talking about just high end games)

Day to day stuff (internet etc)

I thought i had this all figured out but now im back to square 1.

I picked this board ( http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/...=GA-E7AUM-DS2H ) because it had on board graphics, because thats all i think id need?

And maybe this cpu? - http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=36503

or this cpu

http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id...+1333+MHz+FSB)

Or can you suggest a better motherboard / cpu that will do what i need it to do? It has to be microATX motherboard.

I really need your help.

Thankyou.

You don't need anywhere near that kind of horsepower on the CPU, but if you're going to game at all then onboard graphics are not going to be fast enough, unless you're just talking about minesweeper or online flash games.

OK, so the cpu was abit much, what about..

The Gigabyte motherboard - GA-E7AUM-DS2H - http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/...=GA-E7AUM-DS2H

and

Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor E7200 (3M Cache, 2.53 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB) - http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=35348

Ive read some reviews about that cpu and it seems alright, what do you think?

And the game i mean are games for my 3 year old, (peppa pig etc etc etc / not really high end games).

I really appreciate the help your giving

I would pick the DFI LANParty JR GF9400-T2RS over the Gigabyte MB if you're able to find one. Both boards are very good for what you want to do.

Ok, so im feeling like abit of a pain...

The story so far..

I was bidding on the Gigabyte GA-E7AUM-DS2H and basically didnt win it, i live in the U.K and i cant seem to find anywhere that sells that motherboard, alot of places are saying its been discontinued, is that right?

And to make matters worse ive just bought 'Kingston Hyper DDR2 PC2-6400 RAM - 4GB' for that motherboard.

So im once agin looking for more suggestions please.

Ive found another Gigabyte motherboard -

GA-M85M-US2H (ive tried searching here for reviews etc but couldnt find any) - info here - http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/...ProductID=3081

The reason i need your help is because this is my first build from scratch and i am really not sure what im doing...

I need suggestions of a good MicroATX motherboard with intergrated graphics that can handle all the HD content etc (like the GA-M85M-US2H).

Sorry about being a pain guy's.

Sorry about being a pain guy's.

The HTPC build thread has recommended builds. I suggest you read that thread, as any of those mATX boards should do everything you want.

ok.

No, I'm saying you should look at the motherboards that are recommended for each build, do a little research on them yourself, and pick the one that best meets your needs. Look at the specs, read a few reviews on each of the motherboards, and make an educated decision.
