the box seems to put out some type of signal even when the power is off. I use a transcoder that has a VGA pass through, but defaults to component if it has any incoming signal. I have to unplug the 6208 to kill all of the signal.


any ideas on this?

Hardly any consumer electronics box these days actually powers down when

you hit the "power switch". It's much better to think of the power switch as a

"standby" or "low power mode" switch. Along the same lines, the only way to

reset or reboot these boxes is to pull the plug (for a few seconds, you'll

see posters here claim that longer times, even hours, works better, but that's

utter nonsense).

it is not the power down I object to, it is that the cable box is sending some signal out the component lines.


This defeats my auto switch and also sends a signal to my projector. I actually see a low light on in all three CRTs.
