I recently acquired a new Pioneer VSX23TXH receiver and in the process swapped out my old DVI comcast cable box for a new Motorola HD3200 cable box. I'm running HDMI from the Motorola HD3200 to the VSX23TXH and HDMI out to a Samsung 50" plasma. I can receive SD signals no problem but when I switch to HD programming I only get audio. I've called comcast who have told me that the box is "activated on their side" this is the second box I've tried the first was the Pace RNG110 which did the same thing. I have a PS3 hooked up to the receiver also via HDMI and have no issues getting that signal to work properly. I don't think it's the HDMI cable because I'm getting SD. If the HDMI cable was bad I shouldn't get anything right? Any help is appreciated. I searched for this problem before posting but didn't find a good solution. Thanks for you feedback

What happens when you hook it directly to the TV/display and bypass the VSX23TXH?

What resolution are you outputting the HD 16:9 aspect ratio programs in from your 3200 over HDMI?

What resolution are you outputting from the PS3 to the receiver over HDMI?

Do I understand that from the 3200 you have not problem watching channel 2 but have trouble watching what ever channel 2-1 is called on your cable system be it 502 or 702?

Can you watch SD digtial channels on your 3200 such as channel 200-400 without any problems?

It displays HD correctly. I was hoping to just run the single HDMI out of the receiver though instead of running a separate HDMI from the cable box directly to the TV.

The default of the Motorola is 720P. I tried setting 1080i/1080p 24/1080p 30 and none of those work. The PS3 is outputting 1080P no problem. Yes you are correct on the channel question. For example I can watch channel 04 (SD definition) but if I switch to 104 (HD broadcast of same channel I get no picture)
