I've got a 42" Vizio LCD weighing in at 42.6 lbs without its stand. I want to mount it into some built-in cabinetry. The backing of the cabinetry is plywood. Unsure of the thickness. There is one stud behind the plywood. I have an articulating mount from monoprice. I know I'm supposed to mount into 2 studs, but wanted to get everyone's opinion on the viability of mounting into 1 stud and using extra screws into the plywood.

I'm also looking for advise on precision mounting it. The TV fits perfectly (read extremely tightly) into the cabinetry opening. I'll attach a picture if I can. I was looking for advice of the method to get it exact. I thought of attaching the mount to the TV with the TV stand still on and placing it exactly where I want it in the cabinet. I would then extend the articulating mount back to the wall and mount the backplate there. Theoretically, once I take the TV stand off, it should be exactly where I want it. TV will placed in red box in attachment. Thoughts?
