Mounting distance question

I have a Sim2 HT 300E. My room is light controlled and is 20x30x10. My screen is CIH and 48" high and 110" wide. The throw ratio for the pj is between 2-3.1:1


I placed the mount as far back as the throw ratio would allow, 18'. When I spoke to my calibrator, he was concerned about whether I would have enough light output to have the pj so far back. I am concerned about mounting the pj any closer as that would give more distortion.


I don't have the specs for lumens in front of me but can someone help me decide about where to mount the pj? Right now I can move it fairly easily but if I wait another week, it will be much more difficult.
