my basement is finished, and I am about to purchase a infocus 4805. Would like to have a 100" screen, but concerned about mounting to the ceiling due to a vent that hangs about 12" from the ceiling. Could I mount at that level, it would put the pj directly above seating area (opt 1). Would that be a problem with sound or should I move back and drop pj enough to clear the vent. Question is how far is enough to clear, because further back would subject the project to head damage due to it's height.

If you use a quiet PJ, you won't hear it.


I've got a coupla bad pics in my gallery... My ceiling drops down, due to ceiling ducts, directly over the seating area. Ceiling is about 6'7" there. I'm 6'5". The PJ is mounted directly above my head when seated... 22" above. I don't hear it (Sanyo Z2). I can't bang my head on it.


Directly above the seats is not a bad place for it. No one can stand there, so no one can bump their head on it.
