Moving and LCD TV possible problems

I have heard that moving a flat screen LCD tv is not a good idea. I will be moving in 3-6 months and need to know if buying and installing in my current home and then moving 1800 miles is a good idea, or should I wait until I move. Comments are appreciated. My current TV is on it's last legs and I'm chomping at the bit to go with a LCD now but am concerned that making the move will mess up the TV.
