hi, happy valentines (Or not)

recent LG tvs have a color management system for primaries and secondaries color (saturation) and tint but I'm not having success shifting any of the primary colors

I used a spyder2express colorimeter to get values on Dell 2209wa on PS3 because i liked the way it displayed the image and i'm trying to match my readings to an LG 37LH30 but the positions of colors on the CIE chart has them off slightly

no matter how much i match the grayscale on 10 point IRE i can't seem to get the colors to look the same as the Dell, both IPS panels but the Dell seems to display colors differently which is the case according to the CIE chart

i realize the chart looks off, i think its spyder2 but i can still use numbers from Dell 2209wa to match to LG 37LH30 can i not
, i'm not trying to calibrate to 6500k just matching #s one to another

Greetings

The Spyder2 just does not work well with any LCD display ... and it certainly is a poor choice for CMS work. Awful ...

You can't make a triangle bigger if it starts out smaller than the reference gamut. If you make it bigger ... it means you can somehow magically add new colors into a TV that did not have them in the first place.

regards

here's comparison shots of IPS panel Dell 2209wa (E-ips) vs LG xxLH30 (s-ips)

fat princess dress differs in magneta color tone, grass and sky color, Dells screen stretches vertically somewhat because its 16:10 and 1680x1050 native and PS3 doesn't have those resolutions

Dell 2209wa

LG xxLH30

altered LG xxLH30 white balance closer to 9300k
