I will be moving in a few years and so did not want to invest in an expensive a/v whole house system. I do want to put speakers/keypads in a number of rooms and to run a remote mp3 server to them.
I have just installed and tried JRivers Media Center and it works well with mainlobby/musiclobby on my tablet pc.
My tabletpc is not well suited given cost, size, and battery life. Can anyone recommend other viable cost effective options for accessing through wifi or other means my mp3 server in different rooms in my house?
I just discovered some software like proximis netremote and an iPAQ h2200 with wifi. Does this sound like a good way to approach the situation in terms of functionality and cost? Any other pocketpc and software combinations to run media center or other server on desktop computer?
Or would it be better to consider dedicated touch panels. Are these going to be much more expensive than a pocketpc option? thanks fof the help.
