I was converting some VOB's to MPG with the vob2mpg program so that they would work with TV Scout (vob's don't)


Then I noticed that the mpg's are only 2 channel, the original vob's are 5.1DD, I thought that mpg was suppose to support 5.1, am I wrong?

It's probably your playback decoder is coverting the 5.1 to two channels. Are you using spdif? What decoder are you using? Is it set to allow spdif passthrough?


Vob2mpg does not covert 5.1 to two channels. Unless your had both 5.1 and 2 channels tracks in the vob files and only the stereo got converted.
