Multi Purpose receiver

Hey there- For basement rec-room I'm looking for a 2 zone 5.1 or 7.1 receiver. For home theater use and more importantly for 2 channel audio (playing records and CDs.)
I have a line on a refurb NAD T748v2 for $399 that I'm seriously considering. I'll need to buy a $50 Rolls phono preamp with that as it has no dedicated phono input. That takes me to $450 which is about my max budget for the receiver. The feature-set on the NAD has pretty-much all I'd need.

Just wanted to check to see if anyone had any other suggestions or thoughts about it before I pulled the trigger.
thanks-

Jack

I'm not sure how much I care about it have full blown support for 4K... still considering.

For zone 2 all I really need it for is simple 2 channel audio.
Accessories4less has the Marantz 1608 for $329 - that would check all the boxes I think
Anyone have experience with these receivers - how is it for 2 channel music, and home theater?
@whitemtntn NAD makes a good avr, but as lee said, its a little long in the tooth. Marantz too makes good gear for HT and 2 channel. For $70 more get the 1609, which has less power than the NAD but it has all the new 4k features, atmos, phono stage, zone 2 preouts and LR preouts if you want to add an amp for more power. Probably a great choice for a basic 5/7.1 setup plus zone 2.
The marantz 1609 might be perfect. It has phono input as well so its cost is a wash with the 1608.

I currently have the NR1609 and have also had the NR 1603 and SR7008 and SR5012. The 1608/1609 will do really well for movies and music. No worries at all with the 50 watts, unless you're in a large room and plan on playing at high volume . That said, I would buy the NAD. I expect it would give better sound quality for music and movies.

As much as I do want the NAD, I'm thinking that I need it to support 4K, so I may have to say nay on the NAD unless anyone knows of a good workaround.

4k workaround would be connect your sources by hdmi to your tv and run optical to the nad for audio. But then you'd have to change tv inputs and wouldn't get HD sound formats. Fairly inconvenient
