For some reason in the last two months whenever I record from my Moto DVR using CAPDvhs the files come out corrupted/numerous errors, so bad that the files won't play sometimes. Has anyone had this problem and is there a way to "reset" the firewire settings?

Define errors...macroblock errors, audio errors, or errors detected only from running Mpeg2repair. Are you seeing the same errors when viewing directly to your TV? Or is it unique only to recordings capured via CapDVHS? If you are seeing the errors only when viewed through CapDHVS, it is probably not a signal-strength issue. You also may try using VLC, and view the stream directly without using CapDVHS to see if you are getting the same problems. If so, it would not be a CapDVHS issue.
