Among other components in my AV rack I currently have a Yamaha BD-S2900 blu-ray player and a Yamaha DVD-S1800 DVD player. As configured from the factory, if I press a button on either remote both players respond. i.e. If I press play on the S1800 remote, the S2900 turns itself on and squawks about "no disc".


I find this annoying and wonder if there is anyway to configure the two components to listen for separate remote codes? I like both players for their respective tasks and don't wish to get rid of either.

You need a remote with an RF base-station that has IR routing. eg. URC MX-850 with the MRF-350. I don't think those players have multiple codes sets. So you are SOL with factory remotes.
