I have am looking to upgrade my current music setup. The setup I currently have is a Receiver and a 100 disc CD changer connected to speakers wired throughout. I understand that I can rip all of the CD's onto a laptop and connect that to the receiver. However I would like some type of touch screen device that would allow this to be a little more mobile. That way the screen can move with us from one part of the house to the other and change music - volume - etc. The touch screen needs to be bigger than an Ipod - we have a tried using an ipod with a FM transmitter and the size of the Ipod is to small for most of our users.

I guess I have two questions.

1. Does such a touch screen device exist - and if so can you give me some examples

2. Is there a better way to accomplish what I am trying to do.

Definitely -- two good and popular solutions here.

Thanks for the reply - two questions / comments - the Squeezbox display doesn't seem even as big as an IPOD - which is the problem with an IPOD for us. The Sonos looks better however I want to hook it up to my own speakers and subs - more logically my own receiver which would power those - can you do that with Sonos

Sure. Just use the analog or digital output of the Sonos to an input on the AVR.

Can I use the Sonos for internet radio out in my garage on zone 2? Left and right out of processor (inside home), to an amp input (outside), and on to the speakers?

Zone 2? Processor? You can connect the Sonos receiver to a 2channel analog input.

I have a 5.1 system in the livingroom using a separate amp and pre-pro. The pre-pro has zone two. I am going to feed two channels out to the garage to a two channel amp and two spkrs. My question is what is the best way to listen to internet radio out in the garage.....the Sonos, and how/what exactly hooks up inside and outside?

At this time I don't have the zone two up an running yet, (I have the equipment). Inside, I listen to internet radio using my laptop through my system using a mini headphone jack to two rca connectors, plugged into aux (not the best quality, but very listenable to my surprise).
