MX-500 and Marantz SR-5200 receiver?

I have been trying to get discrete on/off codes for my Marantz receiver into my MX-500 (which I've been using for a bit over a year and LOVE). As there isn't a remote with those codes, I've been trying to use my JP1 cable connected to either my ReplayTV remote or my Comcast Digital Cable Navigator remote.

I have a code set for the Marantz 7200, but I've not had any luck getting either remote to emit the discrete on/off for the receiver, so I can't learn 'em into my MX-500.

ANY help is appreciated. Thanks.
