Hello all,
I've had an MX 500 for some time now & am very happy with it. Recently I upgraded to a Moxi box from my cable company & couldn't get the remote to learn very much that was useable from the Moxi remote. So tech support said that they needed to flash the remote to get the Moxi code into the programming because the Moxi remote works on a different frequency than the MX does, which they did. Everything works fine now, but my problem is that the way the functions are laid out is pretty weird & not logical or streamlined at all. So I'd like to re-map or move some of the commands but the MX does not seem to allow re-mapping at all, the best that can be done is punch-through which won't work for what I'd like to do. So here's my thought - if I buy a cheapo Rat Shack universal learning remote & use that to learn the commands that I want to move & then have the MX learn them back to the buttons/locations that I want them. Would that work? When they flashed my remote, they didn't do anything to how it transmits commands did they? Learning from the Moxi remote still is not an option, doesn't work. Any information, advice or other ideas would be greatly appreciated.
