Just got Mike's Surf Remote Control (great) newsletter where he talked about the new URC series of remotes.


So what's the lowdown on the URC-200? It looks to be similar to the MX-500 except that it has IR and RF capability while the MX-500 has more user-programmable buttons on the lcd screen.


For basic controlling of the usual video/audio components and DVRs, which would be recomended? I personally don't need the RF capability, but are there other features that favor one over the other?

If you go here , you can now download the manuals for all the new URC remotes. The MX-500 manual is also downloadable from here .


That should make it easy to compare the two.

They're targeting the end of February or first week of March. The remotes are ready to go but they haven't finished the DVD that goes along with them yet.
