Wow, seems like just yeasterday I stumbled across this fantastic forum. I've learned so much that I forget how little I really knew on my first post.
So, I thought I'd make a completely useless post in the forum that's liekly got the biggest bunch of jokers in it
The Good:
CRT projectors throw the best picture
HTPC's are fantastic to use, easy to setup and serve multiple purposes
A dedicated HT gets a lot of use, moreso than almost all of my other hobbies
HDTV looks fantastic
A flat black ceiling, black carpet and dark grey walls improve picture quality dramaitcally
The Bad
CRT projectors are hard to set up WELL
HTPC's require a significant amount of knowledge to create one properly
HDTV in Canada sucks
This is an expensive hobbie
The Other
A room with IS/Dacron and GOM on the walls is fantastic for movies but terrible for 2 channel stereo (if done as most recommend here).
I dont use my dedicated HT for music (even multichannel) because its a dungeon.
Curt only posts jokes
Flashlight owners are defensive
Flashlights will soon take over the HT world and provide a fantastic picture
I dont conserve tube life. I set my contrast back a couple of points from blooming.
Marquees like 1 V
At the end of the day, there are only a couple of things I'd change about my HT, and they're quite minor. So, thanks to all of you fello adicts for all of your help along the way.
