Thanks to many of you here, I have used your advise and made my DIY screen in my new dedicated theater. I used the wall as the screen but painted it with the Ultra Pure White paint from Home Depot. I then made adjustable mattes with the help of my wife that will adjust to any aspect ratio.(Not my wife, the screen:eek:) The screen is 109" in 4:3 at 7' wide., it stays 7' wide for all aspect ratios as my projector is 4:3.

Thanks again and I doubt I could be happier!

Where did you get your pulleys and stuff for the masking system? I've been having trouble finding suitable hardware locally, and have come up dry on the web too.

Thanks for the comments and replies!

Lenney,

I wanted to use pulleys also but ran some sheetrock screws in partially in to the wall just to try the adjustable screen. It worked great so I just left the screws in. Perhaps once I try to motorize them I will need less friction so I will need to find pulleys also.

Jamoka,

The speakers are DIY as you guessed and consist of 1" mylar Radio Shack tweets, Dayton 5 1/4 mids, and Dayton 10" bass not installed yet. The subs are some old fisher 15" I just can seem to kill to justify replacements.
