My DTC-100 has been updating all day!

The unit had a problem while taking the upgrade and I'm sorry to inform you, but it may be a useless unit now. The data-stream updates are a good idea, but they did not take into account what if their is a problem. Well what happens is you are out the piece of electronics if their is a problem. The upgrade should not take longer than 20 minutes max. Mine took about 12.

Whew! I decided to unplug my DTC-100 for a few minutes, even though the screen said not to. It works! Strangely, it doesn't list any new upgrades, only the initial upgrade when I first used it last March. Stranger still, there is one upcoming upgrade listed: Apparantly my DTC-100 will be getting 5.10 in April of 2002!?!

Can you still see what version of firmware on your DTC100? If your dish is pointed to 119 for HDTV only, not 101, you will never get updates, eventhough the receiver says it will.

I am only pointed at 119. I was pointed at both sats when I got that update in March. Currently I'm running A04.37. I guess I could point my dish at 101 for a day or two and see if it updates. I'll just watch OTA until it does.
