Started this a few years ago.






Before we moved in.






All moved in with 52 Mitsubushi 1080P DLP. Modest set-up. Jamo AVR-793, Klipsch XL-23

LCR, Klipsch RW-10D, and Klipsch RB-61s.

The wonderful windows that let so much light in actually hurt our daytime viewing.

So the wife mentions something about putting a TV above the fireplace. I am in agreement. This would help with daytime viewing as well as increase floor-space. The kicker is she does not want to buy a new TV since the 52' works. I decide to recess the DLP into the wall above the fireplace.


Cut a hole and re-enforce due cutting the studs. Ran in-wall speaker wires for the LCR. also made a custom panel that sits on the left side of the bump-out for connections to the TV.










Built a box for the TV from an old entertainment center.

Damn. I'm not sure I'd have gone to the effort to recess a DLP in this day and age. But it sure looks good

I agree but the W.A.F. was in full effect.
