I am setting up a HT in an allready finished room in my basement that until recently was primarily used by the kids. Now there will be a ping pong table in one half of the room and the theater will take the other half. Unfortunately the room was framed in metal studs so the past week was spent opening up the wall and putting in wood studs for the plasma wall mount. It did however give me the chance to run conduits for the speaker wires and run an electric outlet for the tv.

Equipment (mostly purchased)

Panasonic TH-58PZ700U

Onkyo TX-SR605 receiver

  • RS 550 MKII fronts
  • RSC 200 center
  • RSS 300 Adaptive Dipoles Surrounds
  • SVS PB12 NSD sub

Ikea Leksvik tv bench (to hold center speaker and electronics)

here is a link to it: http://www.ikea.com/PIAimages/76192_PE195672_S4.jpg

Here is the room:

I need help/advice on placement of the surround speakers and the sub. It seems that the surrounds should be on side walls. Can I hang the one towards the center of the room from a ceiling mount? And what range of heights are acceptable? Also there isn't room in the front of the room for the sub. Can I place it in the rear corner of the room next to the couch?
