Hi Guys,

I sent my IF5700 in to be repair because of the fan noise.

Infocus Tech found that the whole light engine needs to be replace.

after lots of phone call, they have realized that they been waiting a month for part, and didn't expect it to be in until January next year.

so they are willing to send me the replacement of the same projector (Infocus 5700).

when I ask about the lamp life on the replacement projector, the tech. service said it should have 80% lamp life left.

but, my projector only has about 20hrs on the lamp life.

give me some suggestion as to what I should do?

should I take the replacement or just wait until January? :(

this really sucks.

thanks.
Ya, it's Bob Williams ... but he is a design engineer. He wouldn't be able to help with a service issue.

What do you need help with?

If I were you I would be calling every Infocus Corporate phone number I could find and relating the story you shared. It is obvious that there is inequity.

Send an email to all Infocus email addresses.

And, of course, write a very clear letter. Don't threaten or show anger. Just state the facts and that you are being asked to take a lesser product. I think you might find some white collar ears eventually.

I hope it works out well. Let us know.

I would opt for waiting rather than getting less lamp life, btw. But, I wouldn't be happy about it either.

If you have a good dealer, they should offer to help you with communicating with Infocus and getting what you want. Taking the replacement with your originial bulb should not be a problem.

The problem is that the dealer I brought the projector from is out of business.

Thanks guys for all you input.

I'll send you a PM shortly with the person you need to speak with ... in an effort to save some time.
