i've been lurking around here for awhile so i guess it's time make a few posts.


i had the surround system for a few years now, and just recently added the new tv, upgrading from a 36 inch sony crt that's now in my basement.

i just built a new coffee table, holds all of my dvd's and whatnot, really cleaned up the look of the place.


i'll add some pics shortly. i'm very happy with the setup, i could use a larger sub, but for rigth now it works fine.


my basement has the old sony 36 inch crt, a sansui 4700 amp and a pair of cerwin vega d5's. with an old sectional and beer fridge down there it makes for a nice place to smoke and drink, along with the other junk down there it sorta has a that '70's show feeling to it

Very nice setup,love that dvd cabinet,one thing you might want to change is the center speaker it's way to high it should be on the first shelf right below the t.v.

yea, i've thought of moving the center speaker down in front of it before. just havent had chance to try it, i just dont want it to be too low.


i didnt buy the coffee table, i built it. didnt really have any plans to go with, just started around the idea of how i wanted it to work. then built the front doors, and basically built the rest around it.

Looks good! Corner set ups are always hard imo, you pulled it off very well I think. Kudos to you for building that coffee table, looks great!

Looks nice, Brian! That's a cool DVD storage/coffee table. I like the center channel shelf, and your furniture looks very comfortable.

yea, corner set-ups are pain in the ass. i couldnt find a tv stand either so i just built that one around what i had for space. so it all worked out well.


i'm at about 10 feet from the screen while i'm on my couch so i'm pretty well in the sweet spot for the tv.
