My new Sony 50'' LCD was delivered yesterday and I haven't seen it as I am away on business.

Wanted to get your views on this. I bought it from BEst Buy, think I got a great price, $2999.00 (price match with local store), $300.00 mail in gift card and a couple of hundreds on the Rewards Zone !. The salesman also promised to honor a 10% coupon if I get one in 30 days (I see a battle with this).

I purchased their extended warranty (4 years/$250.00). The salesman said the bulb is covered...I am sure he meant if it is defective, not if runs out of it's normal life. I still find it a bit hard to believe they would cover the bulb. I would have got the extended warranty nonetheless. Has anyone had any such experiences ?. Do they honor the bulb part of the warranty ?.

Waiting to see the TV this weekend !.

QUESTION: I was told, if I have a satellite input, I will not be able to use the PIP. But I downloaded the users guide from the web and it seems to tell me I can have it if I have a feed from the sat receiver going into the VCR and one feed from the sat receiver going to the TV.

Does anyone have this kind of setup ?. Anything better ?. Please let me know..

Thanks, in advance,

You would need two separate satellite receivers in order to view PIP or split-screen.

People with Digital Cable have the same problem, except that usually you can still get the standard analogue channels without the second receiver, so people just split the line before the receiver, send one connection to the TV, the other to the receiver and then that connection to the TV.

But again -- I don't believe that is possible with Satellite.
